“Remember watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when you were a kid? That scene where everything was colorful, edible, and delicious? That’s what it’s like when you walk into ‘Cassis Bakery‘ in Beverly!“
On behalf of the entire Cassis staff, I would like to thank the Phantom Gourmet and all of our loyal customers for your continuous support.

Customer Testimonials
“Popular with area residents in search of a gourmet cake for a special occasion, Cassis churns out a breathtaking variety of fine pastries. European tortes like the elaborate Charlotte Russe or traditional Havana torte are ideal for haughty affairs, while sinful strawberry shortcake and moist carrot cake are perfect for birthday parties. Pastries like mini hazlenut tarts and chocolate macaroons round out the offerings.”

“The pastries at Cassis are always the freshest, the most delicious you’ll find. Get the small “petit fours”, and you’ll be able to sample quite a few. My personal favorite is the “Berthe”, named after the chef’s mother. This place is also perfect for ordering cakes, as the chef-owner Dmitri Tsypkin will work with you to create just what you need.”

” You made a charlotte russe for my parents’ anniversary party on 13 June. I just wanted to say thank you- the cake was both beautiful and delicious. We all loved it. It was amazing at the party and just as good as leftovers for several days afterward. It was also ready on time and well boxed for the long car ride to the party. You helped make our event really special. (I also gave your name to one guest who spends the summer on the North Shore.)
Thanks again!”

“Some have said this bakery is pricey. I say you get what you pay for. At this bakery you get a real butter and creamy textured pastry or cake. The frosting on the cakes is not your standard grocery store sugar emulsified coating. The frosting on these cakes is smooth and silky like butter. The taste from the real chocolate and strawberry fillings is something else.
When my family celebrates a birthday, we ask for our cakes to be purchased at the Cassis Bakery.
Then there is the parfait section. All those lovely little treats. From small pop in your mouth eclairs to cheese cakes to tortes. It really is so hard to eat just one.”

“This Bakery is by far the best on the North Shore. The Russian owner Dimitri takes pride in his pastries and cakes. Everything is very tasty, if a bit expensive – but it’s totally worth every penny! I also had Cassis bake my wedding cake and ALL the guests loved it!”

This is one of my FAVORITE bakeries that I’ve ever been to. French in nature, the pastries are decorated fantastically and are incredibly rich and well made. The coffee is equally wonderful.
There’s been more than one occasion where I have stopped off to put together a box of petit fours, marzipans, and tartlettes which have shortly become the topic of conversation when dessert comes to the table.
Lastly, they make porcupines! The very same ones I used to get as a kid when our family friends would return from their holidays in Quebec. Little oval tart shells, filled with a hazelnutty cream, topped with almonds and little chocolate eyes and almond ears. Cute to boot!

“For our October wedding, we got Cassis’ carrot cake, and it is hands down the most delicious carrot cake I’ve ever eaten, and everyone at the wedding loved it (even went back for seconds). We also ordered mini cannolis, and they were also totally delicious, the ends dipped in chocolate, and bigger than we expected. They make real Italian butter cream to frost the cake, which means you actually want to eat it! It’s velvety and delicious. During the process of deciding on our cake, Ilya was totally open and honest with us, and was willing to do whatever we asked. Their prices might not be the very lowest you can find, but they are absolutely worth it.”
